Thanks Neal. Noticed your opinion, however I'm keeping this Q opened for a few more days , maybe others will come up with something new regarding this matter.

Browse All TopicsI noticed that while the screen is locked it is not possible to load a music CD and play it. Apparently the screen lock function also temporarily deactivates the AutoPlay function as well. Can anyone explain how/where screen lock and AutoPay/Run communicate, or where in Windows the bit gets set to tell AutoPlay not to function while the screen is locked? Secondly, has anyone been successful getting an AutoRun file to launch while the screen is locked?

I don't think you will find a way round this.
If you think about it - there is a security risk involved.
If you could find a way of running something automatically when the machine is locked, using autoplay for example then anyone could run pretty much anything on that machine simply by putting a CD with autoplay functionality. This could be a key logger, trojan, remote control tool - anything like that. It would defeat one of the objects of locking the machine in the first place.
While there is a rule in the IT security industry that physical access means no security, sometimes you cannot avoid having servers and other equipment in public places. The screenlock is a deterent to anyone fiddling with the machine - hoping no one will notice.

I've noticed in the security logs that an XP client effectively commits the same process to 'log off' when simply locking the console.
Thus, as this would be a user-initiated process, I don't know of a way around this. You might try setting your player to load up via a scheduled task and set it to load when idle, specifying proper credentials for that process - otherwise, I don't see much more to try here...
