Try this:
Start->Run->Sysdm.cpl
From the Advanced tab, check your Environment variables/System Variables/Path (highlight and click Edit).
If this is over 1023 characters, you may get this error.

Also try Start->Run->SFC /Scannow

I don't see any system variables

And I have tried Start->Run->SFC /Scannow

by: sirbountyPosted on 2004-06-15 at 05:43:59ID: 11314648

From the Advanced tab, there's an Environment Variables button at the bottom.
Under the window that opens, there's a System Variables section, with a list box containing the PATH variable...

That fldrclnr.dll belongs to the Desktop Cleanup Wizard.

The Desktop Wizard is probably set to run every 60 days. Something is wrong
with your Cleanup Wizard. Shut it off in Safe Mode:
Control Panel
Appearance and Themes
pick a category or pick a Control Panel icon
Display
Desktop(tab)
Customize Desktop...(button)
uncheck "Run Desktop Cleanup Wizard every 60 days"

Your going to have to do a repair install booting from the XP CD if you
want the Cleanup Wizard to be fixed.

Till you fix the problem, I suggest you disable the Destkop Cleanup Wizard as a workaround:

ok I am going to grant sramesh2k and spiderfix points, but there is still a chance to split the points a little bit more. If any one could tell me how to repair the file and get it because I don't have a windows xp disc I have sony vio recovery disk. I don't use the desktop wizard, but I would like to be able to use it if I need it.

Start
Run...
type "c:\windows\I386\winnt32.exe /cmdcons"
Follow the instructions on the screen.

You will then have the Recovery Console as a startup option and you can
run it from there.

When started don't choose "R" for repair on the first screen, choose "Enter" to install
then choose "R" to repair the current installation.

Ok when I type in the path I get an error message, but when I click ok it install the recovery console. Then it ask me for the windows install I would like to look at then it asks me for the administrator password and put in then I have something similar to ms dos. So in other words it didn't work.

Tommorrow if I don't find an answer to my second question I would reward points and close the question

>>then I have something similar to ms dos<<
Your quite right. My mind was on the recovery console and you can't do a
repair install from the recovery console.

You can however run the command "chkdsk /r" (no quotes) from the recovery console
and although that will no repair the Cleanup Wizard it should be run anyway.

Microsoft is reporting a hotfix for the fldrclnr.dll error, you should install that.
