Laptop with a Networking Problem

Hello, I have an AMS Tech TravelPro 101 CS about 100 Mhz. Since I didn't have enough memory to go full 98 version so I upgraded to 98SE. We recentley bought a network card and we hooked it up to our router and the internet is working great but... It does not show up on our network places! We have a 3 Computer network, 4 if you count the laptop. All of the computers in our house except the laptop are running XP Professional so I was wondering if that was the reason why it  couldn't appear on the network! PLEASE HELP!!!!
