Problems When Windows XP Tries to Load the Agp440.sys Service

and if even after disabling this service, u will be unable to boot into anymode, u shud try a Repair =\
How to Perform an In-Place Upgrade (Reinstallation) of Windows XP:

OR

Boot to dos, delete the agp440.sys file from the hard disk. (see bootdisk.com for a DOS boot disk).
Then boot from CD, go through as if you are doing a new install, go past the F8 screen, until it finds your existing installation - C:\windows.
At this point, press "R" to repair the installation (don't press ENTER at this stage, because it will wipe out your current setup!!)
You've helped me get on a more productive track.
The problem I am having now is that the computer will not boot to the CD drive or the floppy.
I am using a TH7 RAID
the screen identifies the following BIOS information
NVIDIA GeForce
HighPoint Technologies, IN HPT370 UDMA/ATA100 RAID Controller BIOS v1.0.3b1
What do I do?
Irrespective of the RAID array, there is a setting in the BIOS -- startup options, or something like that, where if you toggle the order of the drives, you get CD as the first boot device, and HDDs as second (or floppy as second, HDD third). That is the way you want it, to boot from the CD. Save and exit BIOS and make sure the XP CD is in, and it will boot.
I fixed this problem by doing the following:
Check: In Device Manager, “View - Show Hidden Devices” then choose "Non-Plug and Play Drivers" look at VgaSave. If its stopped try start it, if it won’t start or has a yellow exclamation mark do the following:
Search for AGP440. It will be found in a Cab file. Right click on found file it and extract it to \windows\system32.
Re-Boot, check VgaSave in device manager again and start AGP440.
Re-Boot, F8 while booting and go into Safe Mode.

It seems as if agp440.sys is corrupt, or your off-board video card is having problems. Do you have an onboard video card [on the motherboard], an offboard card [it plugs into a slot], or both?
