Hmmm... may have misunderstood your question.
CTRL-ALT-BREAK switches from full screen Remote Desktop to a windows view of the remote desktop. If you are looking to be able to essentially "ALT-TAB" your way back to the local computer, you can control the ALT-TAB functionality from the XP/2K3 RDP client (downloadable to 2K and other OSes from Microsoft with the link I provide below), by selecting the options button and then the Local Resources tab and Keyboard are of that tab.
