http://support.microsoft.com/default.aspx?kbid=304449

INTRODUCTION
Windows XP includes the System Restore tool, but you cannot start the System Restore tool from a Recovery Console prompt. Therefore, you may want to start the System Restore tool when you cannot start your Windows XP-based computer normally or in Safe mode.

This article describes how to start the System Restore tool in Safe mode by using Command Prompt.

Easy solution: See if you can get hold of a 3rd party partitioning tool and rename the partition back to the original drive letter.

Hard Solution: Change all old system variables to refer to the new system partition (C) instead of the old one (G)

I have got it fixed now, thank you everyone for your help. What I did was, I borrowed a friends XP Home install disk and installed it onto a second partition. I then started it up and went into the C:\SYSTEM~1 folder (System Volume Information) and it said access denied, so I booted up XP home in safe mode and set the permissions for everyone on the folder, then I went in and copied the second-to-last RP# folder. I then went into the snapshot folder and copied the  file _registry_machine_system to
C:/SYSTEM~1/_RESTO~1/RP17/SNAPSHOT/_registry_machine_system

to

C:/WINDOWS/SYSTEM32/config/system

thats all that i did and it works now, the only reason i didn't do it from the recovery console is because when i tried to access system~1 it said access denied, so i had to install on a second parition and set access to the folder system~1 - Everyone: Full Control
