With so many solutions, how can you tell which solutions are most likely to help you and which ones are not? To provide you with a tool to use, we rate our solutions based on various elements that most accurately determine if a solution is a quality solution. To explain what factors affect the solution rating, here are the elements we take into consideration when formulating our solution rating.

  • The Zone Rank of the Expert Providing the Solution
  • The Number of Author and Expert Comments
  • The Number of Experts Contributing
  • The Feedback of the Community

Your Input Matters
Because of the way the system is set up, the most important variable in this equation is you. Windows xp reboots

Three weeks ago a put a few bits together. Asrock AS741 motherboard, AMD 2600 cpu, DDr 400Mhz 512meg, Nvida 5700 graphics card

The machine randomly kept showing the screen of death so i went about fixing it.         So far I have updated all the drivers, changed the original hard drive, changed the power pack to 450V, formated the hard drive and reinstalled windows xp - this was very difficult as the machine kept rebooting at exactly 34 minutes left until it finally worked ( i had previously installed service pack 2 - heard it can cause problems) still kept crashing although at some time stopped showing the blue screen and started rebooting.

Today a changed the memory - machine was fine all day at work but when i got home rebooted 6 times in 10 mins after I activated parental controls on BT Yahoo - although i think the two things are not related.

Created a disk splicing windows xp and service pack 2 together but when I try to boot from it the machine restarts.

i have run all the diagnostic tools nothing comes up wrong although the machine sometimes reboots before they have finished. Software that monitors cpu and case temp say they are fine.

The machine is going out of the window in one week.

So your challenge is - what the bloody hell is going on..........
