code 10- Is microsoft having a laugh or what

  Ive just put a sound card on my motherboard. I have been given the code 10 'this doesnt work' nonsense. I go to the microsoft website to see what incomprehensible nonsense Mr. Gates has put together to explain his shoddily constructed OS and Im greeted with :

So they want to charge me the 40 whatever quid to fix this cruddy system error. And if, in their vast IT experience and wisdom, the telephone receptionist deems my question to be sufficiently intelligent, they might give me the answer for free. Does anyone know how I can fix my code 10 error. Have already rejigged drivers and rebooted and all that stuff.
