The Solution Rating System

With so many solutions, how can you tell which solutions are most likely to help you and which ones are not? To provide you with a tool to use, we rate our solutions based on various elements that most accurately determine if a solution is a quality solution. To explain what factors affect the solution rating, here are the elements we take into consideration when formulating our solution rating.

  • The Grade of the Solution
  • The Zone Rank of the Expert Providing the Solution
  • The Number of Author and Expert Comments
  • The Number of Experts Contributing
  • The Feedback of the Community

Your Input Matters
Because of the way the system is set up, the most important variable in this equation is you. As a member of Experts Exchange, you are able to cast your vote on the quality of the solutions in regard to how complete, accurate, helpful and easy to understand each solution is. When you provide your feedback, each rating is adjusted accordingly. So, if you see a solution that has a poor rating that you think is a good solution, let us know by rating it. spyware, adware, malware problems please help!!!

a lot of things have happened in the last two days. i dont know waht i did, so dont ask me when it happened. it jsut started happening some time. i think i might have gone to some website and got all thiese things. here is a list of things that are happeneing to my computer.

1. browser redirection: IE automatically goes to some site asking to install software, so does firefox.
2. pop ups: this never happens to me unless there is spyware on the computer.
3. deleted files dont go to recycle bin: i have norton systemworks 2002 w/ norotn protected recycle           bin. this didnt start happening till yesterday.
4. hosts file has lots of things under the 127.0.0.1 local host line: i was told that the local host line should always be the last line. there should be nothing under that.
5. hijackthis errors reappear after they are fixed. the entries it catches that should be fixed are 01 - hosts - 69.20.16.182 auto.search.msn.com and the same thing with ieautosearch.

i have:
1.  posted this analyzed the hijackthis log on www.hijackthis.de done what it told me to do
2. posted hijackthis log on www.castlecops.biz and am waiting for replies.
3. run updated ad-aware se. every time it runs it catches something.
4. run spybot s&d.
5. immunized with spybot.
6. tried cleaning hosts file, but it always chanegs back to waht it was. (after a few times, it erased the local host line also and now only has things like 127.0.0.1 igetnet.com etc.


now i appeal to the experts of this site. please help me.
