This error message is related to a driver issue. Have you installed a new hardware device or a new driver recently? A simple system restore should fix the problem. You can do this from normal or safe mode.

Under "programs - accessories - system tools", just pick a day when you can remember the system working fine without this error.

Hope this helps!

this problem has been happening for a long time already
or any free tools to test for bad-drivers installed?

because this error happens when i am typing in msn/icq/outlook/website's textbox,
does it imply the relevant driver of error?

thanks!

Hi Alan,

When Windows crashes with blue screen, it writes a system event 1001 and a minidump to the folder \windows\minidump
Check system event 1001 and it has the content of the blue screen. Bugcheck code d1 is usually caused by device driver.

Control Panel -> Adminstrative Tools -> Event Viewer -> System -> Event 1001. In order to find out the culprit, I need to process your minidump. Attach the 4 to 5 minidumps to any webspace or you can email the dump to me (you can find my email address at my profile)

Windbg reports that emu10k1m.sys is the culprit and it is Sound Blaster Driver. Upgrade the sound blaster sound card drver. Btw I find out that the module list of the windows is corrupt which is very unusual.

BugCheck D1, {4, 2, 0, 81d4a3dc}
Probably caused by : emu10k1m.sys ( emu10k1m+186fb )

" Btw I find out that the module list of the windows is corrupt which is very unusual. " <-- what do u mean by that?

Windbg analyze report of Mini020805-01.dmp shows that the module list is corrupt. This is my time I see this message. Anyway uprade the sound card driver maybe it can resolve all the problem.

BugCheck D1, {4, 2, 0, 81d303dc}

***** Debugger could not find nt in module list, module list might be corrupt.
***** Followup with Debugger team

Probably caused by : Unknown_Image
