The Solution Rating System

With so many solutions, how can you tell which solutions are most likely to help you and which ones are not? To provide you with a tool to use, we rate our solutions based on various elements that most accurately determine if a solution is a quality solution. To explain what factors affect the solution rating, here are the elements we take into consideration when formulating our solution rating.

  • The Grade of the Solution
  • The Zone Rank of the Expert Providing the Solution
  • The Number of Author and Expert Comments
  • The Number of Experts Contributing
  • The Feedback of the Community

Your Input Matters
Because of the way the system is set up, the most important variable in this equation is you. As a member of Experts Exchange, you are able to cast your vote on the quality of the solutions in regard to how complete, accurate, helpful and easy to understand each solution is. When you provide your feedback, each rating is adjusted accordingly. So, if you see a solution that has a poor rating that you think is a good solution, let us know by rating it. tried to format laptop...giving system error..

hey,

here is how my problem started. i use a laptop wireless card to access my internet at home, and a lan wire to connect it at office. yesterday i came back home, and when tried to plug in my wireless card, it gave me a error saying "device doesnot have enough resources (Code12). I also noticed that most of my programs were giving me some sort of error while opening (for eg. Yahoo messenger gave me an Initialization error...which i never saw before in my life). i thought i got some kind of virus in my computer...so tried a virus scan. But after checking just 20000 files, it said "Check completed", which was odd. I thought of checking adwares, which i did using Adware, but the software got stuck at around 40000 files. Used spybot, that one worked and deleted like 10 spywares....but still the problem existed. I planned i will just format my system ( was planning to do it in a month's time, but u know just to get rid of this problem).... so here is what happens now...
i run the setup disk, and ask for full format, creating new partition and doing the ntfs formatting (not the quick mode)....it took me 11 hours to do so (i have a hd of 40gb...and i thought it was a little too much time for that).... and then it gave me the following error..

Windows XP could not start because the following file is missing or corrupt: \WINDOWS\SYSTEM32\CONFIG\SYSTEM

now i am kinda stuck.... exhausted with all the resources i had... Need some expert advise of how to sort out this problem....

Any help would be greatly appreciated. Thanks.
