Browse All TopicsHi...
I have a very strange problem with my keyboard which occurred yesterday, when some of my keys changed their functions:
Shift - opens explorer search window / windows search
Left Winkey - does the same thing as Shift
Right Winkey - opens Outlook Express
Ctrl - WAS opening calc.exe and Windows shut down dialog window at the same time, but now it's working fine...
It is a Genius SlimStar (multimedia) Keyboard which until yesterday, was running just fine on generic Windows 101 key Keyboard drivers...
I stress I have not installed any keymapping / hotkeys software prior to this event, since then I installed numerous drivers but they did either nothing or changed functions from like opening search window to opening Firefox.
Also I checked my computer for viruses, spyware... (avast, Lavasoft Ad-Aware, SpyBot S'n'D)... Nothing was found...
Please help me, I am going nuts over this...
Thanks, frud

Hey...
Thank you everybody for your responses...
All of your solutions seemed very logical, however none of them worked, but the problem disapeared without any explanation...
It kind of faded. First four keys missbehavied, then three, two, one, and now they're all working fine...
I just hope it doesn't happend again...
Unfortunately I installed keyboard drivers and rebooted so many times that all System Restore points were dated after the error occuring...
Points go to stevenshealthcare, for being sympathetic I guess, and for responding so quickly...
Thanks...
