How to determine what user name was used to create a persistent drive mapping?

Asked by cwrea in Windows XP Operating System

Tags: determine, user, drive, mapped

I have a local account in Windows XP that when logged in, it maps a number of drives located on various Windows file servers in the organization.  From the local machine's standpoint, is there any way to tell which remote user name is being used to map each drive, or is it protected the same as the passwords would be?

I know from the remote standpoint (i.e. from each file server in question) that I can look at the management console's share sessions.  Rather, what I want is to know is if from the client machine standpoint, can the user name that was persisted initially when the drive mapping was created be determined after the fact?

Thank you.
