Question

Not enough memory to print?

Hello,

   I have a user that is using our software to print some custom forms, our custom forms utilize the winword.exe.  Anyway, when he trys to print he keeps getting prompted with a dialog that tells him that he doesn't have enough memory.  The previous tech tried several alternate print drivers but this didn't help.  What would cause them to get this error?

Offhand it could be 1 of a number of things....

1. Not enough free hard drive space to spool the print job
2. Using a laser printer with too low of memory to handle the print job
3. The computer itself has too low of memory to handle creating the print job
4. Something corrupted with the print driver (not likely since you said previous tech tried different drivers)
5. The windows spooler is corrupt
6. If your forms are using DDE/OLE those could be corrupted on his system

If there is ample Hard Drive Disk space you may try increasing the virtual memory some, i've had this problem with my HP All in One and all i needed to do was up the memory, it's just another idea to try.

How big is the document? Large enough that you could split it and try printing a lower number of pages at a time?
