The Solution Rating System

With so many solutions, how can you tell which solutions are most likely to help you and which ones are not? To provide you with a tool to use, we rate our solutions based on various elements that most accurately determine if a solution is a quality solution. To explain what factors affect the solution rating, here are the elements we take into consideration when formulating our solution rating.

  • The Grade of the Solution
  • The Zone Rank of the Expert Providing the Solution
  • The Number of Author and Expert Comments
  • The Number of Experts Contributing
  • The Feedback of the Community

Your Input Matters
Because of the way the system is set up, the most important variable in this equation is you. As a member of Experts Exchange, you are able to cast your vote on the quality of the solutions in regard to how complete, accurate, helpful and easy to understand each solution is. Installing XP cause my PC to 'blue screen'

I have a PC running XP Media Centre Edition - SP1 which I am fixing a LAN port on for a client. Now Iam up and on-line it has downloaded SP2 via Windows Updates. When it reboots after installation it comes up with the blue screen that tells me 'A problem has been detected and windows has been shut down to protect itself ...' The only thing I can do is reboot in sfae mode and do a system restore to befor ethe install - the error codes are STOP 0x0000007E 0xC0000005 0xF786c750 0xF7A7B430 0xF7A7B12C ... so what's going on?? I have even tried putting on SP2 from a CD, the same thing happens. I am now going to restore and turn off windows updates - is there another way??

This is pretty urgent hence the points!!
