With so many solutions, how can you tell which solutions are most likely to help you and which ones are not? To provide you with a tool to use, we rate our solutions based on various elements that most accurately determine if a solution is a quality solution. To explain what factors affect the solution rating, here are the elements we take into consideration when formulating our solution rating.

  • The Zone Rank of the Expert Providing the Solution
  • The Number of Author and Expert Comments
  • The Number of Experts Contributing
  • The Feedback of the Community

Your Input Matters
Because of the way the system is set up, the most important variable in this equation is you. Windows XP will not install on Compaq Desktop

I have a compaq 8qsxe computer.  I can not get windows reloaded.  I have use the recovery process and it crashes at some point during the rinstall.  I have a second hard drive and have tried to install windows xp pro, but I can't get it to work.  The last tgime I got the recovery to work until I install microsoft office.  Now it is in a loop of restarts.  It wil not start in any mode, safe, normal, or last configuration.  Originally when it shut down, I would get a message flash on a blue screen, which wouldn't stay up long enough for me to read.  I would really like to install windows xp pro on this machinw.  How do I get it to take a clean install on the new hard drive?
