Greetings,
Cannot seem to get a Windows XP Pro installation that is in bootable ISO image format to run inside VMWare. The reason I can't install Windows in this virtual machine directly from CD, is that it shares the same bay with the 2nd hard drive; which is also where I have this VMWare virtual machine created on.
What I came up with as an alternative is to create a bootable ISO image on disk of the Windows XP Pro installation on the CD; I then have the virtual machine's CD player point to that image file. That all seemed to work OK but when I then started the Virtual Machine I expected to see the Windows setup screen and I didn't... I get the VMWare starting screen and then I get this empty grey screen with what looks like a solid cursor in the upper left hand side of the screen that does nothing.. eventually I simply shut down the Virtual Machine. The files on the Windows XP Pro installation CD that I created the bootable ISO image from are as follow:
DOTNETFX (Windows folder)
IMAGES (Windows folder)
SUPPORT (Windows folder)
VALUEADD (Windows folder)
AUTORUN.DLL
AUTORUN.EXE
AUTORUN.INF
FAQ.HTM
READMESP.HTM
SPWIZENG.DLL
WINZP_LOGO_HORIZ_SM.GIF
XPSP2.CMD
SPSP2.EXE
Does nayone know why this would be occuring? Any help is appreciated, not sure why it is not going right into Windows Setup...
Thanks In Advance,
ADG13
