Hello,
I am currently experiencing BSODs whenever I launch a certain game and unfortunately have not been able to figure out how to fix it. I've been playing this game once or twice a week now for months without problems but all of a sudden whenever I launch it I get a BSOD as it is loading (the error says that an attempt was made to write to read-only memory).
Last week it worked fine but today it is giving me errors and I can't work out why. Over the last week I haven't installed any new hardware and can't think of any new software or system changes that might have taken place.
So far I've tried the following with no result:
* Un-installed the game and re-installed in a different directory
* Renamed what I thought was the problem driver (cdaudio.sys) to cdaudio.sys1 (had no effect)
* Ran the System File Checker (this even replaced cdaudio.sys again but still had no effect)
* Tested some audio programs and other games - they all work fine but this game still doesn't
The last 3 times it crashed I have saved the mini-dumps and I have now zipped them up in case one of you might be able to have a look at them for me and let me know if you can see what the problem is as I am really stuck on this now.
And you can download the mini-dumps from:
http://www.bloginferno.com/minidumps.zipThe last 3 times it has been for the same thing but there was one time before that when it said it thought the problem was caused by cdaudio.sys (only happened once and I restarted before it saved the dump).
Anyways if you could please have a look at the mini-dumps I've uploaded and let me know how to fix it I would muchly appreciate it. Thanks!
