The Solution Rating System

With so many solutions, how can you tell which solutions are most likely to help you and which ones are not? To provide you with a tool to use, we rate our solutions based on various elements that most accurately determine if a solution is a quality solution. To explain what factors affect the solution rating, here are the elements we take into consideration when formulating our solution rating.

  • The Grade of the Solution
  • The Zone Rank of the Expert Providing the Solution
  • The Number of Author and Expert Comments
  • The Number of Experts Contributing
  • The Feedback of the Community

Your Input Matters
Because of the way the system is set up, the most important variable in this equation is you. As a member of Experts Exchange, you are able to cast your vote on the quality of the solutions in regard to how complete, accurate, helpful and easy to understand each solution is. DVD movie formats

Sorry for using this topic area for this question but it was the closests thing available.
I have a church youth choir video that I successfully edited and created an mpeg file that plays well on other computers.

PROBLEM:  The DVD will not play in a regular DVD player.

I realize that most home DVD players are not Window machines and can not  "see" an mpeg file.

QUESTIONS:
 * What is the generic television DVD format called?
 * What is the simplest (and cheapest) method to convert my mpeg movie into a readily readable generic DVD movie?
 * Is there a better forum for this type of question?

 UNACCEPTABLE ANSWER:  Do not tell me to go buy Pinnacle Studio - that software sucks wind.  It edited the movie fine and it created the mpeg fine but when it came time to burn to a DVD compatible device it repeatedly generates a mysterious "render failure" message.  I've tried -R and RW blank DVDs to no avail.
