Windows XP Error 0x8007007f , activation error, cannot check license
I'm installing to a Dell Dimension 4400 and when I install XP Home w/SP1 everything is fine. once I upgrade to SP2 the system will give me an error as mentioned above, and after this every time I try to boot normally it would flash the blue stop screen and reboot right away not letting me read the screen. If I try to boot in safe mode I get to the screen to click on a user, but no users are shown, not even administrator.
This appears to only happen when trying to install SP2, so how can I manage to get around this error? any ideas what could be causing this issue?
I also tried rebooting and going to safe mode with command prompt, and it brings me back to teh login screen, and I also tried reinstalling and repairing with the CD and no luck at that.
