Based on the reading from those two links it would appear that these changes (I want)cannot be made. Can somebody please verify this or clearify a bit more?

In windows xp pro - is there anyway to safely remove or dissable the folders that were added to this edition of windows? I am speaking of the folders "shared documents" & "my documents" and all the subfolders such as "my music", "my pictures", etc?
I liked the old way of arranging folders under "c drive", naming them as I like, instead of this new stuff that they almost force you to use, which actually not only confuses me but I certainly try very hard to avoid using.
Thanks,

Not much help here on this question??? - to keep me from having to have this deleted for lack of participation - can anybody answer THIS NEW question for me:
THEN.................
How do I stop all programs from running automatically? I prefer to start each program as I need it. I ran the msconfig command - can see what is running automatically at start-up - BUT CANNOT REMOVE THEM FROM THE START MENU FROM HERE?????????
How can I better tweak what runs at startup automatically???????????
I actually would prefer to stop ALL programs from loading ANYTHING at start-up - I prefer to run all applications myself manually as I need them - even though this may slow some of the bigger programs like OFFICE when run!
