yes i ran full scans from updated adaware & avg75free. haven't tried updating all drivers as the COM+/VSS errors are o/s related not hardware driver related.
anyone know how to uninstall/reinstall/repair

emachines t9000 - celeron 900 - 128 pc133 - 20b drv - xp hm sp1
first off no video - found onbd port broken/not seated to mobo - added pci 4mb vid crd
pc boots into xp hm sp1 fine, problem is that it keeps locking up at different intervals w/ diff pgms open
tested ram & added another 128 pc133 (same mfg = samsung)
cleaned dust off of mobo & cpu hs+fan
she can't find recovery cds so I can't do sfc /scannow or reinstall
installed 20+ winupd's (took awhile since it kept locking up & i had to pwr off/on many times to finish)
installed sp2, took 1.5 hrs without any lockups
checked eventvwr.exe
under applications:
#1)
volume shadow copy service
unexplained error calling routine CoCreateInstance hr=0x8007007e
* when clicking link to send to MS$
eventid: 8193 filename: vssvc.exe source: vss
* which brought up & lists the error but pertains to domain pc's

com+ system application service terminated unexpectantly, it has done this 3 times

COM+ Event System & COM+ System Application services both show Manual & neither are started, nor can I start either one.
SO is VSS or COM+ the problem with the lockups & how do I fix it without recovery cds?

Could be that more than just the on board graphics were damaged on the board.
Hopefully that isnt the case or else it would a new PC needed.
Is there any anti virus software running?
Any anti spyware running?
Bear in mind these need to be up to date or are worse than useless.
Did you update all drivers to the latest versions?
