XP Home Edition cannot join a domain. Therefore, I am not sure that you can set up XP Home to get updates from a WSUS Server.

XP Home does not use group policy.. it has policies of it's own, but as mentioned it can't join a domain and thus cannot load group policy and even if it did the local XP Home machine would have no security context to access the update server (it has no machine account and thus couldn't access the server even if you found a way to point it to your server- the local machine would get access denied due to it not having a machine account on the domain that is created when you join the machine to the domain.)
