With so many solutions, how can you tell which solutions are most likely to help you and which ones are not? To provide you with a tool to use, we rate our solutions based on various elements that most accurately determine if a solution is a quality solution. To explain what factors affect the solution rating, here are the elements we take into consideration when formulating our solution rating.

  • The Grade of the Solution
  • The Zone Rank of the Expert Providing the Solution
  • The Number of Author and Expert Comments
  • The Number of Experts Contributing
  • The Feedback of the Community

Your Input Matters
Because of the way the system is set up, the most important variable in this equation is you. As a member of Experts Exchange, you are able to cast your vote on the quality of the solutions in regard to how complete, accurate, helpful and easy to understand each solution is. Getting occasional BSOD w/0x19 stop code & BAD_POOL_HEADER error message during bootup

Hello,

I'm not sure if Operating Systems is the best place or not but here goes. For the last 6 months or so I have been getting an occasional BSOD w/0x19 stop code and an error message saying BAD_POOL_HEADER. This can happen anywhere from once a week to once a month. It is not a big problem but it is definitely annoying. I've not done anything specific to the machine that I can remember that would cause something like this to happen.

I have an AMD Athlon 3200+ which won't run any faster than 1100Mhz but that's for another question. My OS is XP Pro SP2 and my mobo is a DFI Lan Party Ultra B II w/400Mhz front end & a 512Mb Crucial memory stick. As far as I know, I have all the latest drivers.

I tried doing a search for an answer but since I am on a very limited budget and cannot afford the premium service I got no joy there.

This has been driving me nuts because there seems to be so little info on this problem on the web and I haven't been able to get a handle on it plus its being intermittent doesn't help any. You don't know if you've solved the problem or not when you do something to try and correct it.

Any help would certainly be appreciated.
