I got an external cdrom writer, but I don't know how to get it to boot from the external drive. The directions say to hold down the C key to get it to boot from the internal cd rom, but it doesn't work for the external drive. I tried F2 and changing the boot priority, but I don't know which one is the external or USB. The choices are CD-ROM, LAN, HDD or FDD. Can anyone help be boot from the external drive?
Thanks,
Charlotte

I think thats the best advice. Probably something is wrong with the hardware. It can be the harddisk and/or the cdrom/dvd drive.
If you have access to an external cdrom drive (USB) you can give that one a try (provided that the notebook can boot from an external cdrom drive).
Hope it helps,
Michael
