PC freezes after short period

Pc freezes after 10 to 40 min. After the System Restore it apears to run longer without freezing. Has someone an idea?
Did not found any viruses....

Check each of your memory sticks with a bootable cd from Memtest+:

http://www.memtest.org/

Run about 2 or 3 passes.

This could be a power issue - can you boot your computer into the bios (Press F2, Del, F10 or Tab after power on) - and just let it sit there - does anything happen?

it can also be a temperature problem :
-check if all fans are running - cpu, power . .
-clean out dust from vennts and fans
-check if the heatsink is fullt seated on the cpu
-check the cpu temp in bios, or with software

maybe it is your windows update.

try to open the taks manager before the pc freezes, and watch the processes. when the pc gets slow, look out for the process that uses your CPU. if a task called svchost.exe is using your CPU, try to disable your automatic windows update

If you are right and it is definately lasting longer after a system restore, it sounds more like a software issue to me, but I also wouldnt rule out a hardware/teperature issue. You could try a diagnostic startup:

Go to RUN
type msconfig and hit enter
There should be a list of options - click the diagnostic startup option and click OK.
Restart your PC and see if it freezes.

If it doesnt, go back to msconfig and select selective startup, then go into the startup tab and begin adding programs, one at a time until you find the one that is causing the freezes.

If it does, try the suggestions above to find out if it is caused by faulty hardware/high temperatures.

It didn't help at all. With the diagnostic startup it freezes much faster. It appars to freeze when the computer is connected to the Internet. In safe mod it works absolutly fine.

Okay - what happens if you disable your usb modem/network card using Device Manager from Safe Mode (however you connect to the web) - and restart? Does it still freeze in normal mode?

When I disconnect the wireless divice it seams to work in normal mode.

Can you try the wireless device on a different computer - to rule out any hardware problem on the card?

I allready have. It works on another computer. It also works now on the PC. I can go in the Internet. It didn't crash since 1 hour now. But I have alot of services on deactivated now... Gona write if it chrashes again.
