spoolsv.exe - Application Error
When a user logs into their laptop, they receive the following popup error:
Spoolsv.exe - Application error
The instruction at "0x75bc7140" referenced memory at :0x00000ab". The memory could not be "read"
Click on OK to terminate the program
Click on CANCEL to debug the program
It is happening on 3 user's laptop (Dell latitude D610 and Dell latitude 620)
We are using Windows XP SP2.
Does anyone know how to resolve this so this popup doesn't appear each time the user logs in?

Check the print spooler service in your services window and see if is is set to start automatically and to log on with a local system account

Thanks for the quick reply
The print spool service is set to start automatically with the local admin account.
I've managed to play a bit further with this, and completed the following
1) Added the user as a local administrator
2) Logged in as the user - Didn't receive the error
3) Logged back in as a local administrator
4) Removed the user from being a local administrator
5) Logged in as the user - Didn't receive the error!!
Everything appears to be working fine now, and I've checked Event Viewer - All Good
Hopefully this has resolved the issue

Just in case you need more ideas if the issue returns...
Maybe a driver is there that is causing it to crash?
Totally remove the driver, once you deleted the printer. Then go to Printers and faxes>File>Server Properties>Drivers, and delete whats there. Then reinstall from scratch with fresh drivers.....
Once the printer is deleted, go to start<>run>cmd
net stop spooler
net start spooler
That should free up the drivers to delete them.....
Also, download the following and try and use cleanspl.exe to make sure the spooler is indeed clean....
