How to remove Group Policy From Windows XP Computer

I am unable to remove the group policy from the computer.  The computer is not connected to domain.

I have chaged the coumputer name, remove from the domain and added to workgroup. This computer is no longer connect to network. Log on to local computer but still the policy exist.

Just wondering how to remove policies from the computer

Also in case there were any local group policies, delete the %windir%\System32\GroupPolicy Folder, the other method which may prove to a lot longer is to run rsop.msc now run gpedit.msc and what ever policies have been defined, enable them within gpedit.msc and than go through and change them to not configured.
