How do I recover from this?  http://support.microsoft.com/kb/307545 says it will NOT work because it is an OEM install.

Tosbiba notebook computer with Windows XP Home OEM boots with the following error:
Windows could not start because the following file is missing or corrupt: \WINDOWS\SYSTEM32\CONFIG\SYSTEM

Microsoft says the solution in http://support.microsoft.com/kb/307545 will NOT work because it is an OEM install.  What is a solution that will work?
