The Solution Rating System

With so many solutions, how can you tell which solutions are most likely to help you and which ones are not? To provide you with a tool to use, we rate our solutions based on various elements that most accurately determine if a solution is a quality solution. To explain what factors affect the solution rating, here are the elements we take into consideration when formulating our solution rating.

  • The Grade of the Solution
  • The Zone Rank of the Expert Providing the Solution
  • The Number of Author and Expert Comments
  • The Number of Experts Contributing
  • The Feedback of the Community

Your Input Matters
Because of the way the system is set up, the most important variable in this equation is you. As a member of Experts Exchange, you are able to cast your vote on the quality of the solutions in regard to how complete, accurate, helpful and easy to understand each solution is. insufficient resources in windows xp pro

I have several users who are running windows xp pro on dell dimensions.  Each system has 1 gig of ram, these users use photoshop and dont have a secondary scratch disk ( they do very light work in photoshop).
They have outlook 2007 running all day as well as IE7.  at first what started to happen is the very top of there open application windows would disappear, its still there just cant be seen.  I thought it was a driver issue with the graphics card, so i updated the drivers, i ran scandisk just to make sure it wasnt disrelated and checked the page files, all of which was 1520.  I also switched one system to system managed page files.  before i checked the page files the users started getting the "insufficient resources" errors when they tried to access a network drive or open a file.

When this behavior is taking place CPU utilization is low and so is memory but yet the system takes awhile to respond.  Its funny but nothing out of the ordinary is running.

The systems also run (Trend Micro client /server security agent ver 7.6).
I have check experts but couldnt find anything that matched, i dont know how else to proceed at this point, i am waiting for more symptoms to see if i can find a pattern or common link between the machines.
