Hi,
I'm trying to install Win XP on a laptop that does not have a cdrom or the ability to boot from USB.
I removed the laptop's HD, put it in another computer, and copied the Win XP CD to it.
Then I made a DOS boot disk and booted up to A:\
I ran c:\i386\winnt, which copied a bunch of setup files. The installer then said thta it needed to restart the computer to resume the setup process and that I should remove the floppy from its drive. Upon restarting w/o the floppy in, I get the error message: "operating system not found".
It is clear that the Win XP installer was able to copy the files it needed to from C:\i386\, but for some reason C:\ is not bootable after this.
What can I do?
