: I am trying to deploy images using SMS OSD. I have created images on many occasions to roll out large environments but I have always used Ghost to deploy images. I created the images with 2 partitions and I redirect the Documents and Settings to the D drive in the image. When I try to deploy Windows XP on a clean hard drive only drive C is created. If I use a Windows XP Boot CD to pre create a C and d drive and format them with NTFS, then use SMS to deploy the image, everything works fine and I have 2 partitions.
I do not think there is a way to specify the creation of 2 partitions in a sysprep or unattended answer file. When I deploy this image I need to set it up as easily as possible for helpdesk users to deploy images. Sorry for the long explanation but here is my question:
Is there any utility or another way to create a bootable CD that can create a partition of lets say 30GB for the C drive and fill the rest of the hard drive for the d drive, and automate the process as much as possible? Or does anyone have a better suggestion on how to get around this issue. If I cannot find a solution I will have to rebuild the systems as a single partition. Thanks in advance.
