Its Moved to Recycle Bin are not showing up or automatically permanently deleted

A Bizarre Proble!!

All of a sudden, any files or folder moved to the recycle bin are either not being displayed or a being permanently deleted. I am running norten protected, however teh proble continues even when I disable the Norton protected files capability

Check you registry settings. Be sure to backup your registry settings before you make any changes.

Click on the "Start Menu".
Go to the "Run" menu and type "regedit".
Locate: HKEY_CURRENT_USER\Software\Microsoft\Windows\CurrentVersion\Policies\Explorer
Do you have this key "NoRecycleFiles" and is it set to "1" for enabled?

If so, you will need to delete this key=value pair and your files will go to your recycle bin as usual.

This problem was solved merely be rebooting the system.  Now I have another problem. I am repeatly getting the Norton Security message blinking on the right bottom of the screen saying:

"A recent attempt to attack your computer was blocked"

When I open up the details, I get this information:

Seeing as it is coming from your own IP range - is could be malware-related (port scan) from another computer on your network - but it may be normal traffic - the firewall just being a bit too efficient.
Low risk.
