When chkdsk deletes files, does it save details of which files were deleted?

chkdsk has kicked off a few times while starting windows (XP Home), and deleted some files. I've recovered one, comres.dll, but I don't know what others have been deleted - there have been several others that I don't know the name of.

Is there a log for chkdsk where I could find out the filenames?

Thanks very much for your help! I'm still having issues unfortunately, but they are beyond the scope of this question (and it's been open a long time).

There seemed to be events from source "disk" in the eventviewer corresponding to problems found running chkdsk. However, there didn't seem to be any information on what the problems were, and didn't show the filenames of files deleted.

sfc completed and closed itself while I wasn't watching, so I don't know if it did anything at all. It didn't fix the problems though. It was definitely a good thing to try though.

My PC is now giving a "disk read error" upon trying to boot up, although when running Seagate's seatools utility the hard disk passes basic and extended tests with no errors, so it appears the file system may be corrupted without the disk itself failing. I still don't know the root cause of the issues unfortunately, as memory testing has failed to find problems too.
