NTDLL.DLL

I am trying to support a machine that is currently having some severe problems.  Everytime Outlook Express is opened, a message pops up saying that an error has occurred with the application and it must close.  When I open IE6, the home page opens(Google), but when I try to go to any other page, IE freezes up.  There has been instances where IE does the same thing as Outlook Express(pop up message and closes).  I went into the event viewer and ran across some messages like the following:

Faulting application msimn.exe, version 6.0.2900.2180, faulting module ntdll.dll, version 5.1.2600.2180, fault address 0x0002ae22.
Faulting application iexplore.exe, version 6.0.2900.2180, faulting module unknown, version 0.0.0.0, fault address 0x03e10150.
Hanging application iexplore.exe, version 6.0.2900.2180, hang module hungapp, version 0.0.0.0, hang address 0x00000000.

I have tried running a checkdisk.  I have tried running sfc /scannow.  I still keep getting the same problems.

Machine Specs:
XP Media Center SP2
AMD Athlon 3800+ 2.39Ghz
1Gb RAM

I am also limited on what I can do as I am trying to support this machine remotely.

Please Help......
Thanks,
Kendal

This could be a malware issue - and that might be what caused the damage to IE and OE.

First - run a full anti-malware scan at Housecall:
http://housecall.trendmicro.com/

Then, download, install, update, and run a full scan of your system with SuperAntiSpyware:
http://www.superantispyware.com/download.html

Then reboot.

Afterward - run a repair of IE6/OE:
http://www.theeldergeek.com/repair_reinstall_ie_and_oe_6.htm
(Method II)

Reboot, then check the results.

If that didn't help - then the chances are - you will have to do a repair install:
http://www.michaelstevenstech.com/XPrepairinstall.htm
http://www.microsoft.com/windowsxp/using/helpandsupport/learnmore/tips/doug92.mspx

You will have to re-apply any critical windows updates - but your programs and data should remain intact.
