Long time to copy and paste

I copy 20 rows * 2 columns, then past.  Takes about 5 minutes before Excel finishes.  What can I do to speed this up.

It would be helpful to see your workbook to know for sure, but possible reasons for the delay include:
1) Enormous amount of recalculations required as workbook is updated after pasting
2) Not enough RAM for the number of applications that are open. Excel 2007 can make profitable use of much more memory than earlier versions (I use 2 GB). It also requires more memory because it can handle over a thousand columns and over a million rows.
3) You may be triggering macros when you do the copy and paste.

If the previous comments are not the problem:

Instead of paste, where it may be pasting things like pictures and links, try using Paste Special (with right-click) then select Formulas (or Values if you don't care about the formulas)

Have you got any add-ins for Excel/Office 2007?
If you have - disable them:

See if that makes a difference.

This may help some:

Put this at the beginning of your code:

     Application.Calculation = xlCalculationManual
     Application.EnableEvents = False
     Application.ScreenUpdating = False

then wherever the code will complete...change everything back again like this:

     Application.Calculation = xlCalculationAutomatic
     Application.EnableEvents = True
     Application.ScreenUpdating = True
