XP mis-detects USB memory stick as camera

When I plug in my (getting old) 128MB memory stick, it does not appear in Windows Explorer but Adobe Photoshop starts up instead.
I can access files from a CMD window as F:\ but if I type F: as the Windows Explorer URL, displays an error popup saying "Cannot find 'file:///F:/'. Make sure the path or Internet address is correct.".
There is .mov (video) file at top level on the stick, but there are other files an directories too

The USB stick works on numerous other systems (including both Windows and Linux machines). For various reasons, a reinstall is highly undesirable. But it might come to that one day anyway. In the meantime I'm going to put up with command-line access only. Thanks for all your help.
