There is something else to try if John's suggestion doesn't resolve the problem -
If I remember rightly, in a workgroup, if you don't want to continually get that window, you'd need to a local account for that user on the server, and another on the client PC, both with exactly the same username and password.
So you'd have 2 accounts for that particular user, 1 on the server and 1 on the client PC - If the password is not identical then it will ask every time.
e.g.
<Servername>\Peter.Thomas password = p4$$w0rd
<clientname>\Peter.Thomas password = p4$$w0rd
So my suggestion would be to reset the users password on the SERVER, to EXACTLY the same as the password the user uses to log on to the PC.
I'm not 100% on this, but pretty sure that's the case. Hope that helps! :)

Quite likely a cached password interfering with teh current credentials being parsed from the client to the shared resource...
nage passwords, and clear any entries....
start>run>control userpasswords2>advanced>ma
Then retry.....
