My typical scenario is a simple XP network with a few computers, one of which is considered to be the "server" because all the data is shared there, and is also backed up to an additional hard drive in the same cabinet.
So, from the server I might map J: to the C: drive on Joe's computer, which was set up on Joe's computer as a full unrestricted share of the root of his C: drive. Then, from the server, if I browse to the J: drive, I can view and copy anything and everything I want to on Joe's computer EXCEPT his My Documents folder. The only way I've found to access files in his My Documents folder across the network is to go to Joe's computer and set up an additional share specifically on his My Documents folder, and then go back to the server and set up an additional drive mapping to THAT share--such as drive K:, for example.
But I need to be able to copy anything I want from Joe's computer, including files in his My Documents folder, without having to map two different drive letters. Is there an easy way to do so? TIA
