Hello all. I am going to be doing a re-install on my brother's pc tonight of XP Pro. His system is riddles with virusestc. to the point that it will not boot. He is ready to toss it out and I told him I would try to do a re-install to make it new again. There are no files or programs that he cares about so I figured a re-install was better than doing a repair install. While I have worked on many systems, this will be my first re-install.
My question is twofold:
1: I have read that during the partition deletion and format process that if the system detects system files, it may refuse to delete the partition. If this is true, how should I proceed to create one single partition out of the 2 that are there now?
2: I want the system to simply boot up with no logons or user selections. Should I just press enter at the admin password screen and also at the "enter user names" screen?
