Can renaming an XP machine corrupt a MSSQL database?

Asked by xyxlor in Windows XP Operating System, MS SQL Server

Hi,
My question is real simple. Can renaming the Computer Name of an XP Computer corrupt or cause an  MSSQL database to stop functioning? Or put another way, with MSSQL installed, does the original installation depend on the Computer Name to affect MSSQL if the XP Computer Name was later changed?Start Free Trial
