Try this little trick. I have used it to remove stubborn printer drivers before. Install a dummy driver. Pick a very common printer/driver and let xp install it. Make it the default printer. As soon as that is done, xp unloads all the drivers for your old one. Reboot and unistall/delete the drivers in question. Then make any changes you like regarding the actual printer.

One more thing. It reports the the driver is in use so I can't remove it as one normally would either. I just tried to delete the files from the system32\drivers\spool folder but it won't let me do that either. I do have admin rights...
please help
