Considering XP SP3 / Vista 64 dual boot for gaming and have a few questions.

Hi,

My current rig is Vista 64 with AMD 6000+ CPU and Nvidia 8800 GT GPU running 4 GB 6400 Ram.  Vista 64 installed on HD #1 along with all office applications and data.  Games installed on HD #2.

Here is my question.  I am reading that XP SP3 is showing significant performance increases over Vista SP1 in gaming.  I can easily set up a dual boot but I have the following questions:

1. Should I put the XP partition on my HD #1 along with my Vista Partition, or is it better on HD #2 since that is where all my games are?
2. Will games and applications installed under Vista 64 also work under XP Professional or do I need to re-install?
3. From your experience, is it worth it to do this or am I looking at just a few FPS improvement in my games (have pretty much all the latest FPS's).
