How Can I Map a File Folder to Serve as a Drive

Asked by anuneznyc in Windows XP Operating System

Tags: Microsoft, Windows XP Pro, SP2

I have an older multimedia learning CD that I want to use again. However, I want to copy the entire contents of this CD to my hard drive so that I can run the application without needing to have the physical CD-Rom media inserted in my CD-Rom Drive.

However, this program insists on having me type in a drive letter of the location that contains the CD and I can't type in the correct path b/c it only accepts a single character (e.g. 'D' or 'E').

How can I make Windows map the file folder path to a specific letter (E or F or whatever) every time that I boot Windows?Start Free Trial
