The Solution Rating System

With so many solutions, how can you tell which solutions are most likely to help you and which ones are not? To provide you with a tool to use, we rate our solutions based on various elements that most accurately determine if a solution is a quality solution. To explain what factors affect the solution rating, here are the elements we take into consideration when formulating our solution rating.

  • The Grade of the Solution
  • The Zone Rank of the Expert Providing the Solution
  • The Number of Author and Expert Comments
  • The Number of Experts Contributing
  • The Feedback of the Community

Your Input Matters
Because of the way the system is set up, the most important variable in this equation is you. As a member of Experts Exchange, you are able to cast your vote on the quality of the solutions in regard to how complete, accurate, helpful and easy to understand each solution is. When you provide your feedback, each rating is adjusted accordingly. So, if you see a solution that has a poor rating that you think is a good solution, let us know by rating it. As you do, the rating will be adjusted and will become more accurate for other members of our site.

If you have any suggestions that you would like to make for our rating system, please ask a question in the Suggestions Zone of Community Support.

Thank you!

XP will no longer add a network place, using http, when im trying to connect to my own webspace folders.  I have my own company website that i have run for 3 years or so, it is published via http [not ftp] as it uses ms front page extensions, when i tried to access it the other day i got the following error messge "documents in this folder are not available.    The folder may have moved or been deleted or network problems may be preventing a connection to the server".  this has occured a few times before and has been a problem with FP extensions dropping out fromt the domain host server, so I have checked with the domain hosts and FP extensions are correctly installed and they have uploaded to my site via http to confirm their side of things is working correctly.  My next step was to  deleted the nework place folder for my website and attempted to add it again.  I was then met with the error " The folder you have entered does not appear to be valid, please choose another. I have uninstalled office 2003 and reinstalled it and re-installed ms Front Page.  Nothing seems to work.  I have full conectivity to my website via IE7.0 etc. and having spoken with tech help for my domain hosts they are able to add network place using there pc.s so it is something specific to my pc that is wrong, and i have a work around which is to log in as a different user "guest" and another Admin user i have set up just to try this solution.  My pc is used by only me and had myname as Admin and guest as the only 2 identities.

So i beleive the problem is one of permissions or something in my personal settings /registry that is causing this problem.  Any idea's welcomed
