also on your process tab in task manager check teh box saying show proecceses from all users
Main Topics
Browse All TopicsHi, nothing has changed on my machine, but for some reason Outlook goes into "not responding" mode frequently, in the last couple of days routinely.
In Task Manager, in the Applications tab it says "Not responding" and CPU is maxed out at 100%. But in the Processes tab the process for Outlook is 0%, and if I sort by CPU usage no other processes are a hog. In fact, all the processes don't even add up to (anything close to) 100%. So that is odd.
I took off the reading pane, that has given me sporadic trouble in the past. But I love using the Reading Pane.
CPU usage is still maxed out at 100% but can't tell which processes are taking up memory.

Good idea about the "Show processes for all users".
That is the thing I recently did - added two users who will access my home PC remotely. I already access my PC remotely from work, that all works just fine.
So it's showing rdpclip.exe for one of the new users I added. I tested their remote access, it worked fine. But for some reason rdpclip is stuck at ~80% CPU usage.
I'll work on that, brb.
That did the trick ! One of the two users I just added had a process running (a .Net application). So I closed it, and now Outlook / XP is happy !
Somewhere along the line rdpclip.exe for the other user was invoked and it just hung.
Not sure why Outlook got hung from rdpclip on another users - but I'm just glad to have figured it out.
So looks like - problem solved !
Thanks.
