how can i fix this ipconfig problem????

run cmd, and ipconfig command, and i receive this error
"ipconfig is not recognized as internal or external command, operable program or batch file"
and when i try to share file from folder to other user on lan network. i got this message
"this service is is not start."
could you help me to fix this? Do i need to repair windows?

have you tried running ip config when on teh c drive sounds like you may be on a non system drive letter in dos

to change to root of c

Search and see if the file is located in C:\WINNT\SYSTEM32
you should find the ipconfig.exe there...Let us know if it is.

It seems that ipconfig has been deleted from your computer.  Copy it from another computer and place it in your system32 folder.

I would suspect the path evironment variable is probably missing/wrong.  make sure c:\windows\system32 is listed in the path statement.  (It might say %windir%\system32 or something like that as well/instead)

TCP/IP stack repair options for use with Windows XP with SP2.

Start, Run, CMD, OK to open a command prompt.

Reset WINSOCK entries to installation defaults: netsh winsock reset catalog

Reset TCP/IP stack to installation defaults. netsh int ip reset reset.log

Reboot the machine.

or Reconnect your NIC card or reinstall it.

If still not working try system file check. This will check all the system files (incl. version) and when necessary copy missing / bad files from installation cd-rom.

- goto Start --> Run --> CMD
- type: sfc /scannow

@dbrunton: i'm pretty sure that i know how to turn on file sharing, a weeks ago, this PC can share file to everybody, but from the last 2 day, it can't.
i don't know why, and about ipconfig, i will try it now.
