I have enabeled the services that microsoft suggests but when I set the setting to Automatic and try to sart the automatic update service I get the following error: Error 1058: The service cannot be started, either because it is disabled or because it has no enabled devices associated with it.

You have avg and surprise its not working you have tons of nasties on there mostly spyware. I would suggest that you run a program called combofix first found here download.bleepingcomputer.
and attach a new log when they have completed.
and actually my first post is a little different in that it is telling you to reneble it for a specific hardware profile instead of just enabling the service but it might be the virus's and spyware blocking it as they are real good for that.
