Power Flash, now Networking not working

This morning there was a power flash and one of the XP pro machines here had rebooted with like 5 or 6 dialogs saying xp had recovered from some serious errors. after that the internet does not work. It first said the network cable is unplugged, but it's not I tried different cables, different ports, same deal.

So I put in a new nic card incase the onboard was destroyed. it also doesn't work. With some tinkering I some how go it past that and it was acquiring a network address. I switched it over to static IP and everything seems fine except it's like no domain names will resolve via firefox.

I tried using a restore point on xp and that didn't work.  Any ideas I really don't want to have to reinstall xp and get everything reconfigured.Start Free Trial
