I install Acronis True Image on many of my customers computers and then create automatic backups to external hard drives. When I create the backup jobs I have to assign the task to the external drive based on drive letter. I have been finding that when some customers put in USB flash drives the drive letter assignments get changed and this messes up the automatic backups. What strategy can I implement to avoid this mix-up? If I make sure the external drive is installed into a USB port on the computer and not a hub, and if the customer keeps the drive plugged into the same port, would that keep the drive letter association?
